THIRTY

1. They gave us wings and we flew
But didn't tell us
How much it hurts to fall

2. Sometimes the home in my head
Feels enough for me
To live there only

3. Gravity holds us on Earth
Tried to defy it
But hit solid ground

4. If they told you then
How much it would hurt us both
Would you still do it?

5. Why, to laugh externally
Takes strength and will
You took mine with you

6. You used to think that
Toothless sharks don't bite
I hope you learned your lesson

7. Many years after
It's still there under the ash
And you're still afraid

8. Love too strong to be set free
Gets locked in cages
We, fools, lost our key

9. Do the shallow breaths you take
Mean you are drowning
In my love or pain?

10. She was one of them
The leaves that wind blew away
And will never return

11. There are no correct answers
On whether it is
Good to be the best

12. If trying too hard
Is as bad as not trying at all
Then why bother, now?

13. How long will it take
You to realise
That fall leaves fell already

14. Snowflakes don't follow your rules
They melt even when
You tell them not to

15. Tried to stop the need
Tried to stop missing
Yet all shadows have your face

16. We are blurry faced
Unimportant by passers
Will our purpose wait?

17. I don't mind their words
But I have to care
That you put them in their mouth

18. Not being enough
Doesn't truly mean
You are not giving your best

19. Sometimes your own best
Can be so good you forget
The bumps on the road

20. No amount of your ice cream
Will make me forget
That snow has melted

21. How many "maybe"-'s
Will I get before
Daisies run out of petals

22. You can never know
If red lips make you stand out
Or blend with the crowd

23. Why, trough the window
You can only see
Invites of the world beyond

24. The smell of markers
Takes me back to when we all
Cared about their thoughts

25. The little people
Still think grand of all
The little things we dismiss

26. Damsel in distress
Asked the prince for help
He took a picture and left

27. The smell of the rain
Made me come to you
Oh, the broken umbrella

28. I forgot my keys
You came for rescue
Yet, you have no key either

29. Gasoline does burn
But water does not
I die, you evaporate

30. Will we bloom from grey in spring
Like green summer leaves
Burning red each fall?
